CDLS Fee Update for the 2025–26 School Year - Effective Fall 2025

Beginning with Fall 2025 course registrations, Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (CDLS) will increase its course fee from $225 to $250 per student, per course, per semester.

This modest increase is necessary to maintain the high-quality online learning opportunities CDLS provides to Colorado students. The state legislature has not increased funding for the statewide supplemental online program since 2017, and all federal pandemic relief funding has now ended. As a result, CDLS must adjust fees to continue offering expanded course options to schools and districts across the state.

We continue to advocate for additional state support. However, as many districts are aware, ongoing state budget shortfalls have limited funding for several essential programs—including those supported by CDLS.

With current state support levels, course registrations will be 65% funded by local district fees and 35% subsidized by state funding. This funding model will enable CDLS to serve more than 3,000 students statewide, providing access to over 250 online courses, all taught by Colorado-licensed teachers, to support local districts and student needs.
